Car Alarms: 98 Ford Taurus Factory Car Alarm, ford taurus, fuse box

Question
Hello,

On another site you were assisting someone with their 98 Ford Taurus alarm issue so I figured I would ask here, since his issue was not resolved.

The car alarm on my 98 Ford Taurus goes off randomly. That is, the lights + horn are going off. I do have a worded THEFT light in the dashboard that blinks. I am unable to find a fuse in the fuse box specifically for the car alarm nor in the manual. The manual says the 98 Ford Taurus doesn't use certain fuses, where as my fuse box is factory labeled as using them and even has fuses in them.

I am assuming the car alarm is going off because my door sensors are messed up (car thinks doors are open and the light is almost always on). Do you know how I can disable the car alarm all together?

Thanks for your help,

Pete

Answer
There are at least 2 seperate systems in this vehicle.
If you read the last one, you know
there is a noise generating alarm and a PATS
system.

If the is also a siren, that would be 3 different
alarms.

Get the wiring data on the car and the methods used
to disarm each.
