Auto Insurance Claims: Hit and run soft tissue injury, soft tissue injury, outstanding warrants

Question
Two months ago I was involved in a MVA in which a man run a stop sign and I stuck him at considerable speed. He then left the scene of the accident, has warrants for his arrest, and has not yet been arrested for those outstanding warrants. He had full coverage on the vehicle. My vehicle was totaled and I suffered soft tissue injury to the neck and shoulders resulting in loss of wages and medical bills valued at approx. $5000. How much is a reasonable settlement in this case?

Answer
Hi Amanda,

The value of an injury settlement is dependent on several factors such as: the nature & extent of the injury, length of treatment, prognosis and permanancy rating if any. However, in general, a soft tissue injury should settle for 2 to 3 time the total cost of all medical treatment.

I hope this helps
