Auto Insurance Claims: Am I at fault or can I get out of some of it?, wet pavement, shoulder of the road

Question
I was going down the road and I was at the tail of a four car line. It had just rained a few minutes before so the ground was wet. The first car in the line approaches an intersection when without warning slams on their breaks. The second car in the line swerves onto the shoulder of the road the third car locks it up and takes the middle of the road. So now I can’t go anywhere so I slide and hit the right rear of car number three. Cars one and two that caused the wreck take off. So does that make me one hundred percent at fault or is there a chance that I will not be one hundred percent at fault?

Answer
Hi Nick,

Unfortunately, you will be cosidered at fault. The law required you to always be in control of your vehicle regardless of what happens in front of you.  They will consider that you were either driving too fast or following too closely considering the wet pavement.

I hope this helps
