Auto Insurance Claims: Who pays for denting parked car?, collision insurance, insurance company

Somebody bumped into my parked car and dented the fender. Originally she said she'd pay out of pocket, but now is contacting her insurance company. My car is over 20 yrs. old so I don't have collision insurance. Do I approach her insurance company?

Hi Hanmeng,

Yes. You should contact her insurance company. But be careful.  Since the car is so old, if the cost of the repairs is more than 50% of the value of the car the insurance company may try to total the car.
