Auto Insurance Claims: son turns 18, marijuana possesion, nissan

I bought my son a car 2 yrs. ago at 16--- now 18 going on 19---Car is in my name and have liability 0n an old 87 nissan---should car be in his name now??--btw--He just got busted for marijuana possesion in it---still have to deal with all of that ----should I somehow change over into his name or what?? live in Indiana --he is still a senior in high school---thank you for any insight

Hi Bill,

I have recently been through the same thing with my own son.  You should put the vehicle in your sons name. That way you can not be held liable for something he does. The insurance should be only in his name as well.
