Auto Insurance Claims: Car Accident Claim, car accident claim, body shop

Question
Hows it going Richard I AM down here in Florida and had a car accident over the weekend. It was the other persons fault and he took the fault when the cop came to write the report and I have all of his information. This took place on sat. I know that i need to file the claim so the adjuster can come out to see the car but how can i make sure that i have the right facts to show the adjuster what the parts are going to cost plus the labor because i have herd a lot of stories where people have to pay extra out of pocket.
Thanks,
Adrian (Miami, Fl)

Answer
Hi Adrian,

You should research the body shops in your area. The most important thing is to select a good body shop to complete the repairs.

The insurance company estimator will complete their own estimate. Once this is done you should take your car to the body shop you have selected. Give the insurance company's estimate to the body shop.  The body shop will then compare the estimate to the damage on the car and if they feel it is not correct, the body shop will contact the insurance company to have them come back out to the body shop to write up the supplemental repairs. You shoul;d tell the body shop that you want to be kept informed of any additional damage they find.  This should keep any problems to a minimum.

I hope this helps
