Auto Insurance Claims: no insurance; guest driver still covered?, car insurance policy, uninsured motorist coverage

Question
My daughter has no car and not on anyone's car insurance policy, can she drive a friends car who has car insurance and be covered? OK back to you, thanks Steve.

Answer
Hi Steve,

Yes, the owner's insurance will cover drivers who are operating the vehicle WITH THE PERMISSION of the owner.  Just make sure she is licensed and that she has the permission of the owner.

That owner's policy will afford your daughter all of the rights of the owner in driving the vehicle.  This includes both liability defense and whatever first party rights the owner has purchased, including medical pay, wage loss, and uninsured motorist coverage.
