where is the orifice tube located on a 96 pontiac sunfire?

Pontiac has bad habit of moving them around on us. Example: on the 2000 sunfire it is at the outlet of the condensor up near the front of the car. On the 1998 it is on the high pressure line right as it enters the firewall.
I have never touched a 1996, but unless I am badly mistaken, they made few if any changes between the years 1995-1998. Therefore I am comfortable in saying that you will find it in your high side line entering your firewall. If you trace your lines back from the firewall, it is easier to distinguish the high side from the low by looking at your fittings.
I recommend that if you are doing this repair yourself, ensure you replace the o-ring on the line itself with a new one.
