Auto Air Conditioning & Heater Repair: 96 GR CARAVAN AC LEAK, disatisfaction, discharge hose

Question
Couple months ago AC stopped cooling.  It blows air but not cold.  Took to Dodge dealer.  They put in dye and recharged $150.  Lasted 2 weeks and stopped cooling.  Back to Dodge; said discharge hose leak; replaced hose $530.  Lasted 2 weeks. Back to Dodge; said liquid line and transducer leaking; replaced $500.  Lasted 2 weeks.  These guys at Dodge can't seem to find the real leak; hesitate to go back there again.  Is there better way to find leaks than dye they are using?  Is it possible they are somehow making more leaks -- over pressurizing to test it?  Advice?

Answer
Hi john, Never go to the dealer if you don`t have to. these guys are just guessing. dodge and chrys. have alot of leak problem with the evaporator coil. leak test are also done with the halide gas sniffer. have them double check the evap.and your not going to pay anymore guess work.I`ll bet my reputation that evap is leaking.I`ve changed a load of those and to get to it the dash has to come off. that cost about 1500.00 parts& labor.dyes don`t work where you can`t see it,like the evaporator.check with the service manager and bring your receipts." the barking dog get feed first".
explain your disatisfaction with their piece meal repairing.
either repair it correctly or ask for a refund. If you get no action see the G.M.  I work for Lexus,it always works.
