Auto Air Conditioning & Heater Repair: AC Problem, ford focus zx3, freon

Hi,
I have a 2000 Ford Focus(Zx3) with an AC Problem. The AC blows out moderate cold air when turned on. The problem is that when I turn the AC on the compressor seems to turn on every few minutes, which is not normal. When the compressor turns on, if I am in drive, my car accelerates as if the compressor just hit the gas. I'm not sure what to do, could this just be low Freon with a minor leak; or a major problem?

Without physically putting a set of A/C gages on your system to see what your HIGH and LOW side pressiures are doing, I would make a judgement call and say that you are most likely low of freon due to a small leak.

COST of the repair depends upon WHERE the leak IS.
