Auto Air Conditioning & Heater Repair: A/C blows fuse, clutch assembly, saturn sc1

Question
I have a 1994 Saturn SC1. The 7.5a a/c fuse keeps blowing. I put a 10a fuse in and last a little longer but still blows. The relay appears ok and I can't find any burnt wires. Do you have any suggestions?
Thanks,
Dave

Answer
NEVER EVER install a larger fuse than what is recommended unlees you want to replace ALL of the electrical wiring in the A/C system of where the fault is occuring as the wire(s) that are connected to this fuse get HOTTER and HOTTER and can MELT and cause serious damage to the other wires that are near this particular wire.

Your short circuit could be just about anywhere within the A/C system. You could have a worn out CLUTCH ASSEMBLY at the compressor of which is the component that engages and disengages the A/C compressor.

Take a look at the wires that connect to the A/C compressor for anykind of rubbing off of the insulation of the wires.
