Auto Air Conditioning & Heater Repair: 2001 Ford Taurus A/C problem, electronic leak detector, vacuum lines

Question
Problem:  AC is not blowing cold
Recently I repaired a leak in the coolant reservoir, had the power control module reprogrammed because of rough idling and transmission engagement, now the AC is blowing warm air.  I tried recharging the system with R134 but it seemed like it would not accept it.  I am going to check the fuses associated with the blowers and AC system.  What should I look for next to determine what the problem is?

Answer
What mechanical work or ANY kind of work has been performed on the vehicle recently ?. As most problems that occur after a recent repair was made can be traced back to the area of where the repair was made as a vacuum line may have been knocked loose or a wire connection came loose, Look around in the area where work was performed.

Once you lose freon from the A/C system the system sucks in atmospheric air which is why you can't add freon.

You MUST have a set of manifold A/C gages to install on the A/C system to see what pressures you have in the system FIRST.

If the pressures are LOW you have evacuate the air from the system as well as any freon and recharge the system with 2 cans of freon and then locate the leak with an electronic leak detector. Then you FIX the leak. Re-evacuate the system and then re-charge it with freon and and (if required) additional refrigerant oil.

If the gages show that the system is FULL of freon then you have to check electrically and look for faulty vacuum lines broken/loose under the dash or in the engine compartment to see WHY the A/C compressor is NOT engaging and or WHY you have a possible vacuum lose to the A/C components.
