Auto Air Conditioning & Heater Repair: 1992 escort, crankshaft sensor, faulty component

Question
my escort just decided not to start after i had been at the metro store. it doesn't seem to be getting any spark. it turns over and wants to start. i originally thought it was the fuel filter but i had it changed and still not starting. all the fuses are ok and the battery isn't corroded. i'm thinking maybe it's the coil or something. i need to know where it is located and what it looks like and what tool to use to get it off. though if you think it may be something different please give me input.

Answer
From your question you most likely have a crankshaft sensor problem, ignition module or possibly a coil problem but ALL these items need to be tested using special equipment and it appears thru your questions since you do not seem to know where anything is, You are going to need a repair facility to diagnose, install and adjust the faulty component.
