Auto Air Conditioning & Heater Repair: Compressor broken inside?, freon refrigerant, gauge pressure

94 Saturn SL1. Ac not blowing cold. System turns on and off w/switch with compressor  engaging/disengaging. High and low side gauge pressure is the same. Both hoses warm when touching them. No noise from compressor. Told compressor bad inside.

NOT necessarily and quite doubtful.

You more likely either have:

1. A leak of freon (refrigerant in the A/C system of which will cause this problem.

2. A fault in your EXPANSION TUBE of which will also cause this problem and give you the same high and low side pressures on the gages.

If you manually energize the compressor and it runs continously without making any internal noises, It would be rare that the compressor is faulty.
