i have a 91 jeep cherokee and the air fluctuates when it is on any setting hi low or in between and the ac condenser just locked up and broke my belt. i got a new(used)one and now the air blows hot all the time and the pully does not engage. when i drive around with just the fan on the air still fluctuates i dont know if that has anything to do with the lack of cool air and i dont know what to do to fix ether problem.
I meant the compressor on the a/c, not the condenser, sorry. the compressor will not engage.
AnswerWHO installed the USED compressor ?.
Did you flush out your A/C system of the debris from when the old compressor locked up ?.
Did you replace the EXPANSION TUBE ?.
Did you drain out the OLD contaminated regrigerant (freon) oil from the USED compressor and install about 5 ounces of NEW oil ?.
Did you EVACTUATE the air from the system using a vacuum pump ?.
Did you check the system for leaks ?.
Did you install the correct AMOUNT and TYPE of refrigerant (freon) into the system ?.
If you did NOT do ALL of the above I'm not surprised it does not work.
EXACTLY just what did you do ?.
