Auto Air Conditioning & Heater Repair: air just shut off, gmc 1500, repair history

i have a 1992 gmc 1500 pickup with a 4.3 v6
and the air was running great then it just stopped
like it blew a fuse but under the dash in the fusebox it's fine,where else might i check,i have chiltons book for this ,,,thanks  tom

What was the LAST repair on the vehicle ?. ANY repair of any nature ?. In most cases problems that arise days, weeks or even months later can usually be traced back to the previous repair.


Personally, I do NOT, Nor would I EVER, Own a CHILTON'S book as they are a generic FIT-EM-ALL book that combines numerous years and models into a single book. Theredore, they are no a reliable source of imformation in my opinion.


Without knowing the past repair history as stated in the first paragraph above a diagnosis will be broad in nature.

Have you had any A/C problems lately ?.

Had to add freon ?.


Notice any leaks, freon oil around or on any of the fittings or components of the A/C system ?.



Is their freon in it ?.
