Auto Air Conditioning & Heater Repair: 1990 F150 A/C Issue, cold sensor, compressor clutch

A/C worked fine. Between drives condition changed. A/C compressor clutch switches on for about 6-7 seconds and then shuts off for the same time. This cycle continues indefinatley and obviously A/C never gets cold. Sensor??

Sensor ?. Not likely. Would appear to be more of a low refrigerant (freon) problem in the A/C system.

Your description is a classic example of as said above low refrigerant due to a leak in one or more of the A/C system components.

Put a set of manifold (A/C) gages on the low and high side A/C access fittings as see what your pressures are and let me know.
