Auto body repair & detailing: front end repair

Question
My wife hit a sign in a 2012 Nissan Sentra SR 2.0L. The airbag deployed. What sensors/modules need replaced to make all the airbags and seat belts work again?

Answer
Hi Tony....In order to determine which SRS (Supplemental Restraint System) components will need replacing, which don't need replacing, and which SRS modules can or cannot be reset, you will need to contact your local Nissan Dealership Parts Department. The reason for this, is that every Manufacturer has their own specific repair procedures. For example, in most GM late model vehicles after air bag deployment, affected components will be replaced, the SRS module needs to be changed, and seat sensors need to be reset with the use of special weights.  With the majority of late model Chrysler, only the affected components need replacing, and no reset of modules.
In a lot of Non-North American Manufacturers, it is imperative that all components are replaced, damaged or not.
These specifications can also change from year to year, and model to model.

Thanks for your question....Dave
