Auto body repair & detailing: carpet cleaning, bristle brush, carpet cleaner

Question
i have a weird situation that you can hopefully help with. i removed the carpet from my camaro to vacuum them and left them out of the car for a couple days. i was then driving and made a sudden stop where a bag sitting in the passengers seat shot out with some baking soda that spilled onto the carpet and mixed with a drink that spilled. i did not know this happened at the time, and found out a couple days later (i dont drive my car daily). now the baking soda has dried into the carpet. if i wanted to clean the car myself, what would be the best way to do so?

Answer
Hi Alex,

I would suggest shampooing it. If you don't have a shampooer you may be able to rent one or you can take it to a detail shop. Alternatively, if you have a Shop-Vac you can hose it down with water and vacuum it out then spray a carpet cleaner and water solution and scrub with a stiff nylon bristle brush and then re-vacuum.
