Auto body repair & detailing: interior panel protection, rust, rust protection

Question
Hi Gary,

I'm working on a '75 triumph - the goal is a solid driver, not show material at all. I'm wondering what would be the most practical method of protecting the inside of the body panels once the body work is completed. There's got to be a mid-point between Triumph's weak rust protection and the bullet proofing a lot of restorers are doing!

Thanks,
-Cam

Answer
Hi Cam,

3M makes a very good rust inhibitor that can be sprayed through a 36" wand that attaches to a schutz gun. Here are a few links to give you an idea of what I am talking about:

With just a few access holes drilled into hidden areas you can do a good job of rust proofing fairly quickly and easily.
