Auto body repair & detailing: scrapes on rear quarter panel, 2008 toyota camry, rear quarter panel

Question
QUESTION: I have a 2008 toyota camry se.  There is are scrapes on the driver's side rear quarter panel, just above the tire.  The more noticeable scrapes are about 3 inches in length, there are also medium scratches.  So total damage is about 1 feet.    My question is,  how will the auto body shop repair this?  will they replace the whole quarter panel or just smooth out the damage and repaint.  How hard/easy is it them to fix this?  Thanks

ANSWER: They will smooth and fix the existing panel, it's an easy fix. Bill

QUESTION: Hi Bill,
After the auto body repair, I was not happy/satisfied with the results.  It took them 2 days(fri&sat), to repair a minor damage, and it cost $250.00.  Looking at the paint job closely, i can see paint surface imperfections, specifically small water spots, that was painted over and dried, and I can still see minor scratches on the quarter panel with paint over it.  They said they needed more time.   I'm no expert in this, and its my first time dealing with body shops, but is it just poor workmanship or did they really needed more time??, they did offer to repaint/retouch the problem areas, but, I didn't want to leave it for another 2 days and risk seeing the same poor paint job.
Any advice..?    How easy/difficult is it for auto body shops to blend in the quarter panel with the color of the bumper, trunk lid, rear door, and make it look showroom condition?   Any help would be appreciated.  Thanks

Answer
Jason, 250 bucks is CHEAP. you got what you paid for. I would have charged at least 350-400 dollars for the same repair, and also had the car overnight. Having the car overnight is absolutely reasonable in every way possible, body shops aren't like a drive through carry out. It takes time. As far as the quality of the finish, I can't judge that without seeing it personally. This may all sting a bit, but you are out of line here. Give them a chance to make it right, but show them a little more respect. They didn't totally rake you over the coals, or climb through your wallet. They did it cheap, and got it back to you ASAP.
