Auto body repair & detailing: 2006 Honda Accord metallic paint stone chips, paint sealant, minor imperfections

Question
QUESTION: I recently purchased a 2006 Honda Accord with a sapphire blue (metallic) paint. It had a couple of stone chips, but after highway driving for over 1 month I've noticed more chips in the paint. The paint seems to chip so easily. I'm wondering if a product such as langka (www.langka.com) will help aid in fixing these and if a paint sealant or hood deflector is any good in preventing further damage.

ANSWER:  Following to close causes most stone chips. The only good way to repair them is to repaint the hood. You can use touch up paint, but that always shows. You can try that Lanka stuff, I don't know how good it is.

QUESTION: I've actually kept a good following distance, unfortunately sharing the road with trucks and vehicles with larger tires such as S.U.Vs throw stones high and far enough. I'm also wondering if minor imperfections etched in my windshield from stones can be polished out.

Answer
You must travel the highway a lot with heavy traffic, you can't get away from the blasting from trucks and SUVs. I feel bad for you, your car is always getting picked on.  I know how you feel, I take golf trips south frequently and around big cities, it's bumper o bumper, getting sandblasted all the way. If you get your hood repainted, have the shop use a high quality clear like Dupont Chroma Premier Production clear or Dupont Chroma Premier Premium Appearance clear, very durable
Most glass companies will not polish glass. I have used my buffer with some heavy duty rubbing compound to clean up fine scratches, but I don't think it would work on fine chips
