Auto body repair & detailing: paint, swirl mark, wet sand

Question
I just spray painted my hood on my wifes mini van
I am in no way a pro
how do I go about getting to shine like the rest of the van
do I need to buff it out ?
and if so what is the correct procedure

Mark yes you will need to buff it you need to wet sand the paint down flat with 1500 grit wet sand paper then use 2000 grit wet paper make sure to sand it flat with a block or a sanding block.then use a rough cut compound to buff bring back the shine then a finesse compound needs to be used followed by a swirl mark remover.
