Auto body repair & detailing: 2006 GMC Yukon rear door molding, fender flares, 2006 gmc yukon

I bought a set of gm fender flares for my 06 yukon (short one) part of the rear flare is on the rear door. The part of the flare that is on the door cuts into the rear door molding. I have talked to the dealer and no one can find me the correct yukon molding so the flares will work. I can buy Tohoe molding that is short enough to make it work but the yukon molding is much nicer looking. I can't imagine that the flares are offered in the GM accessories and no one has figured out this problem yet. I've thought about cutting and refinishing the edge next to the flare but the molding is alittle thicker and hollow in the middle. I would appreciate any information that you could give me. If this is a GM part than it has to be available from the dealer. Some parts people are not the smartest people to deal with keep trying. Not seeing the vehicle its hard to understand what you need or I could get you the GM part Number. I know it has to be available though. Talk to your salesman and tell him of your disapointment I sure he will be glad to help.
