-----Question-----
I am working on a 03 Chevy Venture van, and am trying to adjust the passenger side door. There are four bolts to adjust with. Two on top, and two on the bottom. Do you by any chance know which of the bolts adjust the door front to back, as well as inward to outward?
-----Answer-----
I need more info. Are you trying to adjust the sliding cargo door? Is it a power sliding door? Bill

Answer
FYI- Venture sliding doors, just like ALL vans with sliding doors, are never intended to be open while the vehicle is in motion. The supports and rollers just aren't strong enough to support the weight of the door, and absorb the shock of road travel. I have a customer who delivers newspaper bundles, and his Venture slider is always on the verge of falling off. the only thing keeping it together is constant adjustment and replacement of rear bushings and the lower track. These doors are horrible to adjust, and kudos to you if you manage to align it. Shimming the rear striker outward with washers will draw the door forward, removing a shim will draw it rearward. Careful, if you take out both striker bolts, the nut plate behind the sheet metal falls off, and you will have to remove the rear passenger compartment interior panel to retrieve it. That will include removing the seat belt bolts, which require a t-50 torx. They will be about rusted shut by now. The door will adjust upward on the lower roller hinge. The bolts are located under the interior panel, on the door itself. It requires a special trim panel removal tool, and even with it, it's difficult not to snap off the little plastic tabs that hold the trim panel retainer clips. Once removed, these clips are junk, and the door panel will soon loosen and the panel will flap, eventually jamming the door shut. usually about the time you are trying to unload 200 bucks worth of groceries. That's just the beginning of the fun! You sure you want any more of this nightmare? See a pro, man. Just please don't bring it to me, I hate these things.
