-----Question-----
I just purchased a 1993 jeep wrangler. Since i got it home I have found 2 rust holes. One is not that big. It's on the drivers side floor and the other is on the side where the seatbelt hooks to the floor.  Can you please tell me the easiest way to fix this?

Hello Tara! The old rust must first be cut away, then a new piece of floor put in. If the rust areas are small, you can hand make a patch, but if the areas are larger, then I highly suggest you go online, and find a source for aftermarket jeep parts. The rust around the seat belt concerns me, your seat belt is a life line in an accident. I really think you should have it professionally rebuilt, and a new section of floor and seat belt anchor installed. Now, the small hole you can fix yourself. Cut away the rust, then style a patch to fit over it with sheet metal. Go to a store like Napa or Autoquest, and purchase some structural bonding adhesive. Simply apply the glue to the perimeter of the patch, and stick the patch to the floor. Be sure that the patch is closely shaped as possible before attempting to glue it down, and be sure it's sealed up all the way around when you are done. It will take at least an hour to set, a day before it's completely cured. Bill

Put it on the inside, it's probably easier to pull the carpet back and work up top, as opposed to laying on the ground trying to fashon patches. Also, if you go underneath, you will have to use rivets or small scrws to hold the patch in place while the glue dries. I personaly would rather maybe have to yank a seat and a few interior pieces to get the carpet pulled back, than lay on a cold, damp floor. Go up top, it's worth the effort. Bill
