Auto body repair & detailing: Removing unwanted paint., rear quarter panel, unwanted paint

Question
There was some road striping being done on some new road construction and apparently I drove over some of the freshly painted yellow striping and a little bit of it sprayed up on my rear quarter panel.  How can I safely remove the yellow paint?  Thanks.

OK, that road paint is very tough. Hopefully it isn't on any black trim or plastic that has texture to it or else you'll have to repaint that.  First, get an old credit card, some soapy water, and some wax that has some cleaner or polish in it. (Not just a wax coating but has some mild abrasive, or cleaner, that will polish the paint smooth and remove mild abrasion).  Very carefull see if you can chip off some of the yellow paint flecks after you lube up the area with the soapy water (wash the area first).  Don't go overboard, but you'll feel it when some of the paint just chips off.  We're trying to remove the worst of it here, then get some lacquer thinner on a clean terry cloth rag and dab the yellow paint areas till the paint is dissolved.  You can use a rubbing action, just not too hard, and turn the rag to a clean area frequently.  This should get the paint off with some patience.  The area will appear dull when you're all done.  Don't use the thinner on anyting but the painted metal body.  Use the wax to polish the area back to new.  TaDa!! That should do it.
Take care,
