Auto body repair & detailing: Removing an edge where paint coats overlap., paint coats, wet sand

Question
I hope you can help. This question actually applies to the finish on a airplane I built. I had a shop paint the wings (Centari White with hardner). The instructions were to keep it light to keep the weight down. The painter thought he was doing me a favor and masked off about 2" back of the leading edge of the wing and shot another coat to increase the resistance to bugs, rocks, etc. The problem is that the wing uses a laminar flow airfoil and will not tolerate the edge left by the tape. Can you give me any guidance on removing or fairing the edge without going through the paint behind it. Thanks!

Answer
You will need to wetsand down that hard edge with 1500 wet sand paper use water with a little soap in it to help keep the paper clean. Go SLOW so you dont sand through the paint.
Then you will have to buff out the sand scratches buffing SLOW so you dont heat up the paint and burn it. You also could hire someone from an autodetail shop  to do it for you. Easy fix I antisapate no problems!

            Hope this helps
