Auto body repair & detailing: backseat removal of Toyota Tercel, toyota tercel, brute strength

Hi there! I have a 1995 2-door Toyota Tercel and wanted to know how to remove the backseat. I have tried to remove it but it seems to be latched on to something. I see metal prongs attached to something and didnt want to just use brute strength just in case I would break anything. Any help you coudl provide in removing the backseat would be great. Thanks.

Jimmy,
 Make sure there are no bolts under the carpet towards the front of the rear seat.  If not, push in and pull up at the same time, very firmly.  If it is not bolted down, it is most likely held down by hooks that the springs go under.
