Steering Column Repair: Tilt steering, turn signal switch, tilt column

Question
I have an 1989 S10 pick up, without tilt steering. A friend gave me a "parts" steering S10 column with tilt steering, how could I put the tilt on the non tilt?

Hi Marty:

You cannot use anything form the tile column in your non-tilt column except for the lock cylinder and the turn signal switch.  Otherwise, they are completely different animals and nothing can be swapped form one to the other, nor can you make a tilt out of a non tilt.  The shafts, housings and shifting mechanisms are all completely different in length and design.
