I know this is simple, but, i have a 85 buick century and the door handle on the drivers side does not work. i can't enter on the drivers side. i am trying to remove the inside paneling so i can see what the problem is. how do you remove the handle the cranks you manuel window. i have been able to put my hand inside the door and found a 7-8 inch rode in side the door that appears to attach to the door handle but i can't get the handle off. help

Answer
  hi reginald,
the window crank is held on with a special C shape clip. it normally takes a special tool to remove it ,but you might beable to pop it off with a small hook tool or a long thin flat screw driver it is behind the handle. i think if i remember right the door handle stays on the door and the pad pops of over it. there are a couple of screws and pop in clips around the outside edge of the pad. the slide lock lever pops off also. if this dosn't help you get it off you may have to have somone locally look at it because it has been a while since i have worked on this car and i can't remember exactly how it comes of. thanks for writing.
