Auto Glass: window glass clips/brackets for colorado trucks, c r laurence, chevy colorado

Question
Hi Ben ,my name is Spencer from Ky. I have a 05 chevy colorado with a broken window clip/bracket. the part that is glued to the bottom of the window and attatched to the metal track that carries it up and down with a bolt/nut. I cannot find out where to purchase one to save my life & Id really like to fix it so I can open my window. The auto parts stores have a generic part in their "help" isle that doesnt fit and the dealer wants me to buy a whole new window, aint happening !! where can I find those things !!!! please help me Spencer. Thanks in advance !

Answer
Hello Spencer,

I have only replaced one glass bracket on a Colorado during the past three or four years so I don't have a clear memory of exactly what the glass bracket looks like.  I keep only three different glass brackets on hand. Sometimes I make some minor modifications with a Dremel tool when necessary. Here is what I have:

Dorman Brand (sold at most auto parts stores: part number 38480

C. R. Laurence (on line at "crlaurence.com"): part number CP937102 & part number AGB1

If none of these three brackets look like they will work, you might consider going to a salvage yard and getting a used door glass.  I would think you should be able to find one for $40-$50.

Send me a follow up question if I can help in some other way.
