Auto Glass: 1987 F150 Power Windows, dry lubricant, window slides

My windows are slow moving up. One broke and I had to replace a plastic gear in the motor.  It still trouble going up. The driver door is now experience slipping problems.
I think I could solve the problem by putting some type of dry lubricant in the rubber guides that the window slides in (I put new in both). The driver door did not have a problem until I put new seals in hoping to reduce wind nose (which did not). Is there a lube you can recommend not oily?

Hi Charles,

I recommend that you spray the rubber guides ("run channels") with a silicone spray.  It will go on wet and then evaporate, leaving a slick film that won't attract dirt.  It should help your windows move more easily.  You can find an inexpensive ($3.00) product at most large home center stores likes Lowes or Home Depot.  Don't spend extra money on a more expensive brand.  The difference in performance is negligible.
