Auto Parts: VW Brake pads, vin number, vw beetle

Ive input my vin number in several searches but nothing recognizes the number. It is a 2001 vw beetle vin# 3vwck21c71m447366 it has 2.0 on the engine but I cant find specs to know the correct pads to get...can you hel?

    You don't need your VIN to buy parts, with the exception of some parts that are only available through the dealer.  All you need is make, year, and model.  If there is something else , the parts guy will ask you.  But the only place that refers to the VIN is the dealer.  If you were to try to sell the car on eBay, they would recognized the VIN and display any data available from Carfax and the like.
