Question
Will the autu tranny from a 91 f150 work in a 89 f350? The f150 has overdrive and the f350 dose not. Both are 4x4

Hi Dan,

The answer to your question is no.  Unfortunately the two transmissions are not compatible.  The F150 and F350, not only have two very different types of transmissions, they also have two very different engines.  The transmissions from them will not properly work if swapped.  Also they will not line up correctly with the other vehicles engine,so mounting and connecting the transmission will be very hard.

I suggest looking to a refurbished transmission shop or try local salvage/junk yards to find one made for the specific vehicle you are needing the part for.
