Auto Parts: Bought a used engine that doesnt work correctly, oil loss, broken car

Question
My car engine blew in Lexington KY while I was going on vacation in OH.  A tow truck brought it to what he said was a reputable company.  That shop said I needed another engine.  I had a time frame to work on (which was even extended) so we decided to buy a used engine rather than rebuild it (which would take another week to 10 days-which I couldn't do because of my time frame).  To make a logn story short.  I picked up the vehicle on 8/28/10 and drove back to Atlanta then to work to find out that the engine had already lost 3 quarts of oil.  I have been in constant contact with the shop owner to no avail.  I need to know how to MAKE these people follow thru with changing out my defective engine for another one.

Answer
The date you mentioned is ten days in the future, so I assume that's just a mistake.  The only way you're going to get anything out of this garage is to go back to Lexington and camp on his doorstep.  Next time rent a car for the trip and have the broken car shipped back to your house.  It would have been a lot cheaper in the end.  Only other option is to get someone local to diagnose the oil loss problem.  It may be something you can fix cheaply.
