Auto Parts: 2000 Honda Shadow Starting Problem, honda shadow 750, honda shadow 750 ace

Question
I have a 2000 Honda Shadow 750 ACE. While riding at highway speed I accidently hit the kill switch. At first wasn't sure what had happened. While still moving at highway speed I realized it wasn't a fuel issue... noticed it was the kill switch that I accidentally hit. Switched it on with the clutch disengaged and hit the start switch... and wasn't sure if at the same time I engaged the clutch. Bike ran well and didn't notice it until the next time I had to start it up. It simply will not turn over... nothing at all.
I can bump start the bike easily but nothing from a standard start up using the starter button.

I have check all the fuses... all ok. Battery is good. Suspect it is the solenoid but can't test wheather the starter button is delivering current to the solenoid. The connector contains both the contacts for the starter, the main fuse bus and bus. When I go through the standard start up.. I notice the headlight shut off which is normal. I can't see when I can get into the wiring to check out the start switch... nor the solenoid.

Any suggestions?

Answer
If you were still rolling down the highway when this happened, all you should have to do is flip the stop/run switch back to run without doing anything else (don't hit the starter at this speed) and the bike will start right back up again.

You may have hurt the starter. I would pull it to have it tested.
