Auto Parts: Vechile wont start, no spark....Can you help?, chevrolet gmc, gmc dealership

Question
I have a 2001 blazer that will not spark. I just replaced the coil and ignition module the ignition harness, the locker, spark plugs wires, and the battery. It will turn over, but not start. This vehicle also comes with a anti theft system, which is blinking when I try to turn it over. Any ideas on why my vehicle will not fire?

Answer
Hi Ellielynn,

You've answered your own question. The Pass Key system used in your vehicle for security is experiencing a fault. Typically when the light blinks while trying to start it means that the resistance value in the key-transponder does not match the module frequency. You will need to take your VIN number to your local Chevrolet/GMC dealership (I hate sending people to the dealership) and ask them if they can get you another ignition key that corresponds to the service number of the disabler module.

Looking for a reputable service technician? My advice on finding a good technician is: Steer clear of the dealership and 'chain' stores like Firestone, Sears, Pep Boys, Monro Muffler/Brake, Midas, etc. as they usually only employ ONE ASE Certified Tech just so they can say they do and chances are, that guy is the asst. manager or manager and is not in the store to diagnose/repair vehicles anyway. Find a service location in the link below or get some names out of the yellow-pages and do a drive-by. Garages that employ ASE Certified Technicians will be marked with the 'Blue-Seal' insignia. If unsure about whether a place employs Certified Techs, just ask to see their credentials. ALL ASE Certified Technicians will be PROUD to show and display their certificate(s).

Thanks for the question, I hope this information was helpful to you.
