Auto Parts: whats my problem, chevy tahoe, best guess

i had an alternator replaced then i asked the mechanic to tighen up my starter bolts well he did and touched his wrench across my starter causing a huge spark well i tried to start my truck and it wouldn't start so he said that it might be the starter so i bought that and he has had to put it on 5 times (having the starter tested) and still my truck wont start just makes a clicking noise he said that well it might be a relay so i bought that and still my truck wont start he said the wires were burnt in a certain spot cut them so far and put them back together and still my truck wont start can you please h e l p!!!!!!!!!!!!  my vehicle is a 1996 chevy tahoe 2 wheel drive the mechanic said that its a different motor in it cause the battery was originally on the other side by the starter relay thankssssssss alot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Justine,

Find a new mechanic, get a second opinion. It's OBVIOUS the guy looking at it now has no clue.

My best 'guess' would be that another wire, probably the one that goes to the ignition module, probably fried the same time the first one did and is now shorted to ground causing the solenoid to fail to operate.

The first thing you want to concern yourself with however, is finding a new mechanic.
