Jeep Repair: Leak from hose/a/c &heat problems, jeep dealers, jeep liberty

Question
Hi Kevin,

I own a 2002 Jeep Liberty In the winter I turned my heat on to 3 or 4 and it blows only cold, I have to lower it to 1 or 2 for the heat to work. Now that I have been using the A/C, the sends out cold air for a few then the air becomes none cold. Do I need a new A/c control head? When I am driving my jeep with the cruise control on, the a/c will work perfect. I also have noticed white residue covering a 2 1/2 inch cloth covered hose that is positioned in the front of my jeep on the driver sided, it is like the leak is spraying from this hose getting the oil filter and items next to this area sprayed with this white residue. The hose has like some sort of coupling attached with looks like it runs to my radiator. Help, I have taken this jeep to two different jeep dealers for them to tell me there is nothing wrong with my jeep. In order to experience the a/c problems, you have to drive the vehicle. If you have the a/c on in park, it works fine. It only happens when you are driving the vehicle.

Answer
for the heat u have a leak and or the heater core is clogged up.  As for the ac  u could be looking at low freon, compressor, line restriction,or pressure switches.
With out looking at it for myself first hand i can not give u a 100% theory of whats wrong.
