Answer
Hi Pete,

There is a sequence-key. I'm not totally sure what it is on your '02 Cav., but for most other GM models, turn the key to the "ON" position. press the brake pedal three times. The security light on the dash should illuminate. For the door-LOCK button, hold the lock button on the drivers-side door while pressing the LOCK button on the remote. Do this for the unlock button also as well as for the trunk-release if equipped. After each code is learned by the BCM, the park lights should blink or the horn should honk for a split-second telling you it was successful.

If the security light does not illuminate after the brake is depressed and released three times, there may be a different sequential-key to enter the diagnostic mode of the BCM.

Thanks for the question, I hope this information was helpful to you.
