Auto Parts: `70 Mustang part swap, rear axle assemblies, rear drum brakes

Question
Hello.
I have a 1970 Mustang that I'm rebuilding.  It has 14" wheels with drum brakes.  I plan on replacing or 'beefing' up the 302 that's in it.  I would like to give it more stopping power by upgrading the drum brakes to disc brakes all around (and 15" wheels).  My question is, would getting disc brakes off a Ford vehicle in salvage yard work?  If so, what make and year would I have to look for?  The OEM disc brake systems are pretty expensive.  Thanks for your time.

Answer
Hi Jim,

The '70 mustang was only equipped with rear DRUM brakes in 9x1-3/4", 10x1-3/4" and 10x2". If you are planning to upgrade to disc brakes, there is nothing OEM about the aftermarket kit you will be using and I cannot know what other vehicles/rear axle assemblies would fit into and work in your vehicle with modifications.

Thanks for the question, I hope this information was helpful to you.
