Auto Parts: Engine identification, chevy dealer, chevy engine

I´ve got a six cylinders engine in line and I need some parts for it, I believe is an American Motors engine. I don´t know the year, displacement the only thing I know is the serial number and is 7M680, it is located on a machined surface between the 2nd and 3rd cylinders. There is another number on the wall of the engine and it is CWC 1156 3181884 G. I want to know what kind of motor it is. Please answer me as soon as possible, thanks in advance.

OK, I really hate to say it, but I can't answer your question. I would say that Chevy makes an in-line 6 engine, so I would start by calling your local Chevy dealer and talk to the parts counter guys. They can take your serial numbers and try to find out if it's a Chevy engine-they may even be able to tell you what brand it is if it's not Chevy.
I'm sorry, there's just really no way for me to answer this question. Now, once you find out what it is from the dealership, then I can help you with finding parts, but locating serial numbers is something I just don't have the resources to research.
