QUESTION: do I HAVE to install a remote starter to use this, or can I just install it to get the security system to allow the car to start?

ANSWER: If set up correctly, there is no need to add a remote starter.
But the key here is that the vehicle must be able to start at
least once to program the kit to the car.

If the engine won't start and run,
you can not make it happen.

QUESTION: ok, I have researched the xk06 and have found MANY different versions. Which version are you suggesting? And can you please direct me to a link or info page so I can make an educated decision?

Also, the last time I tried to do the relearn procedure my security light didn't seem like it wanted to go out. I bought a scan tool that has the capability of erasing codes, but when I hooked it up it read 0 faults. I then used a different scan tool just to be sure to eliminate a defective (although new) tool.
I planned on disconnecting my battery, for 30 minutes or so, from both posts, in hopes of resetting the stored faults. is this idea right...wrong...indifferent??

Answer
Wish I could help Luis, but please understand this
is my online business. I won't display
that information on ALLEXPERTS anymore.

I do not share my proprietary information
for installing these.

Your best bet is to contact the manufacturer for that info
if shopping around. Make sure if buying online
that they support this installation as well.

I stopped giving this in depth information
away when I found folks taking what I gave them and
then buying the item across the street cheaper.
Or they got it  on Ebay cheap, but it came with no
technical support services, then
come to me for install support. No sorry I again
don't do that here any longer.

I'm sure your research will get you through from
this point. My page to purchase kits is at
www.PASSLOCKBYPASS.com

Good luck with this project.
