Car Alarms: Disarming my car security system, car security system, gmc sierra

Hi. I have a 2001 GMC Sierra truck and back 9 years ago my insurance company had a security system put in my truck for insurance purposes. The system I have came with 2 small rectangular keys with 3 brass prongs on one end. The system was set up so I would have to insert this key I will call it, into the flashing red insert just below my lighter to enable the truck to start. My problem is I been getting shocks from this device each time I put it in to start my truck and now neither one works and the light in the insert keeps flashing. I want to disable this system so I can be able to drive my truck. there is no name on the keys or the insert so I am trying to find out which system it is and what I can do to disable it.
