Car Alarms: quesiton, kia sportage, alarm sounds

I HAVE a 2001 kia sportage. I was not given a remote key when i purchased the car . Everytime i lock the car whether its by key or manually the alarm activate and when i unlock the car the alarm sounds. Do you have any solutions
