Car Alarms: Car Alarm problem, car alarm installation, alarmtek

I have a 2003 Buick Regal - alarm is VSC3200.
I couple months ago, my battery died completely.  After it was replaced, my alarm would sound 20 minutes after being turned on.  This would happen if I left a light on in the car. The alarm works "correctly" except for that problem.  Than is, I can set it and the LED blinks, and if I open a  door the alarm sounds.  The dealer I purchased the car from is out of business.  I went to a different Buick dealer and was told this was not factory installed and they cannot help.  Any suggestions would be appreciated.
