Car Alarms: Alarm system, precise answer, glove compartment

Question
When I tried to unlock my city golf (rhythm) 2007 with the button in the key nothing happened I then opened the boot and the alarm went off the key did not work to stop it I unplugged the hooter ,removed the glove compartment and then the alarm system the part number on the box is 450FT0454-00 17S 962 258. There is a new battery in the key and no dry joints on the alarm board . What could be the problem
