Car Alarms: Disconnect a 1999 Toyota Camry Car Alarm, toyota camry, car expert

Question
Hello there,

So I had my Camry for about a year, and it came with a remote to disconnect the alarm.  I had let my sister borrow the car and she had lost the remote.  With some fiddling around I had managed to disconnect the alarm but not sure how.  Then two months ago I had a transmission problem and took my car to the repair shop, they managed to fix my car, along with the alarm... Now whenever I have to get into my car the alarm goes off, it's getting to the point where it's stressful.  I would like to know how to disconnect the alarm permanently, so I don't have to deal with the alarm ever again.

I'm pretty sure the alarm is not factory installed, there's a little red LED to the left of my steering wheel, which flashes if the alarm is on.  There is also one beep noise that automatically happens when the car door is open  and closed while the car is off, which also indicates when the alarm has been turned on. When the alarm goes off it's like a siren, and my headlights flash. To turn it off I have to put my key in the ignition to the right just before the engine starts and press the valet button next to the brake.

I was told that I can disconnect it via the battery, but I am no car expert nor a wiring specialist and have no idea what to do.

Please help!
