Car Alarms: Replacement remote, chevy truck, designtech

Question
I have a viper 600hf code plus alarm on my 1997 Chevy truck. he remote was lost when I bought the truck so I ordered a new one. I found the Valet switch but dont know how to program it. I have followed the instructions that came with the 485m V60 multi channel remote but dont know why it wont work. I must be doing something wrong. Can someone please help me?
